One of our brothers has stepped up and offered to cook for the lot of us. There will now be food available on site for each meal... please see the menu and schedule below!
MEAL SCHEDULE AND MENUS
The original plan was for all participants to plan and carry out their own menus, hopefully as groups. However there have been two very interesting and generous developments regarding food. First, the Sunday lunch between the morning speaker session and the afternoon Men's Congress will be provided by Retreat organizers, thanks to some generous and anonymous donations. You don't need to plan any lunch that day.
Additionally, in the past day or two, one of your brothers, Scotty Clawson, has made the extremely generous offer to do a ton of cooking and provide a lot of food for the event... here's the planned food schedule:
Friday Dinner: Dutch oven meatballs, with rice and veggie sides, dinner roll.
Saturday Breakfast: Pancakes, eggs and bacon
Saturday Lunch: Food Trucks on site! (No food prep by Scotty or retreat planners)
Saturday Dinner: Each group should BYOM (bring your own meat) for the BBQ, and Scotty will be doing veggie and baked beans sides, and a Dutch oven dessert. He also plans some really nice grilled hotdogs for those who don't want to bring meat and grill.
Sunday Breakfast: Chili Verde breakfast burritos
Sunday Lunch: provided at no charge by retreat planners and anonymous donors.
Your participation in any of these meals is absolutely voluntary, and you are still welcome to do your own meal planning and cooking either in your own facilities or in the big kitchen in the lodge.
We thank Scotty for his extremely generous offer to do this. His motivation is that he sincerely wants to serve his covenant brothers by cooking for them. He is hopeful that some of you will join in with the task of cooking, and that all who partake will make a financial contribution to the meals. We suggest that each person give $20 per person, which will cover all four meals that he's planning (1 person x $5.00 x 4 meals=$20). After his costs are covered the balance will go toward conference costs. Any funding that is left at the end of the conference will be donated to the temple fund.Â
$20 meal contributions can be made on-site, or by venmo to Spencer Morley. Please make a note in the comments that this is for meals, so Spencer can keep track. Venmo link: https://venmo.com/u/Spencer_Morley_
Those with food allergies or issues, or who wish to volunteer to help cook etc., please contact Scotty Clawson directly at: scott.w.clawson@gmail.com
It is also important for you to note that no beverages, adult or otherwise, are contemplated in this food section. In other words, this retreat is BYOB (bring your own beverages) in its entirety, except for sacrament on Sunday.
